Half-Day Meditation Retreat – Online

Meditation Retreat with John Bruna

Hosted by the Way of Compassion Dharma Center

Sunday, February 27th – Online

“Meditation means learning to control our minds, thereby protecting our minds from domination by delusion and other afflictions.” – 14th Dalai Lama

Join us for a day dedicated to cultivating and establishing a shamatha (calm abiding) meditation practice. Shamatha is a universal practice that can be applied to any spiritual or religious practice and it enhances any other meditation practice by establishing mental and emotional balance.  It is the antidote for a ruminating and busy mind. This retreat is beginner-friendly with meditation sessions of 24 minutes. Our focus will be on developing the foundational methods and practices to sustain a meditation practice that is right for you

The retreat will be facilitated by John (Chophel) Bruna. Though these teachings and methods are Buddhist in origin, John will present them in universal terms making them practical and effective to people of all faiths and spiritual traditions.

The retreat will be broken up into three fifty-minute sessions with a ten-minute break in-between and time for discussion. Due to the recent COVID outbreak, we are only offering this online using Zoom.

Date: Sunday, February 27, 2022, 9 am to noon, Mountain Time.

Cost: By donation. You may offer any amount.
